B&B Het Gouden Eiland

Het Gouden Eiland is located in the extension of a beautiful villa on the edge of the historic village centre of Parkstad Veendam. This area is known as the Gouden Eiland, a villa district with houses built in the period from 1910 to 1930. The Gouden Eiland is located in a quiet leafy neighbourhood with tall oak trees and wide streets. The flat has its own entrance. You have your own patio at your disposal with a seat where you can enjoy the sun while having a snack and a drink. You have your own bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. You also have your own kitchen. The interior has a modern industrial look. The flat is fully equipped so that you can stay here for several days without any problems. Of course, there is WiFi available as well as a fixed internet connection. Sheets and towels are provided free of charge. The flat is suitable for 2 persons, but an extra guest bed is possible. There is also a cot and high chair available.

We are Robin and Inge Drenth and since 2020 we are the proud owners of this beautiful city villa. We live with great pleasure in Veendam. We both love outdoor activities such as mountain biking, running and walking. Fortunately, there are plenty of opportunities in the area. We will be happy to inform you about the possibilities and if you want you can always join us for a ride.

Our townhouse is situated on the edge of Veendam town centre, in a quiet neighbourhood. Within walking distance you will find shops, restaurants, museums, swimming pool, cinema and railway station. The legendary Star departs from the station. This is an old-fashioned steam locomotive that takes you through the Veenkoloniën. In Veendam, you will also find a beautiful park: Borgerswold. Here, you can water ski, swim, canoe, fish, hike, mountain bike or climb through the trees in the climbing course. At 15 minutes by car, you will find various nature reserves, including the forestry of Gieten with the tree crown path, the Balloerveld or the Adriaan Tripbos. Within 25 minutes you can reach Groningen by car or train. We will be pleased to inform you about the numerous possibilities you can undertake in the vicinity.
