Excellent Gite of the Great Cedar

Gîte with wood sauna! located on the banks of the Castellane river, within the walls of our old 14th century forge. This gîte is a small detached house on three floors in the heart of nature with a private enclosed garden. Close to the thermal baths of Molitg-les-Bains. (Two stars… because we don’t want a TV – Value 4****) In the heart of the Pyrénées-Orientales, in the wild Castellane valley.

The cottage is arranged with noble materials (wood, exposed stone, Italian tiles, wrought iron, etc.). All the equipment (sofa, bed, household appliances, sink, air conditioning, etc.) has been chosen to ensure optimal comfort and to bring an artistic touch. In addition to the 1000m2 of private garden, the silence in a natural setting sufficiently far from roads and villages, each of our visitors is surprised by this serenity and possible privacy…
The cottage is made up of 3 floors with a surface area of ​​66 m2

Private garden (in the heart of the 3ha estate on the banks of the river up to the upper terrace)
1000 m2 garden (enclosed by the old forge) in front of the gîte with table, chair, etc. and other armchairs to “snuggle up in”, chaise longue, etc.
Direct access to the banks of the river (20 meters and below) with swimming possibilities. The natural swimming pools are in the canyoning areas or… we will explain…

A wood and “lava stone” (Finnish) sauna is available on request. You can then bathe in the river (natural bath a few meters away) or enjoy the waterfall (depending on the level of the canals).
Wood is provided for a sauna lasting at least 1.5 hours.
The start-up is carried out by us at least 1 hour before you can use it.
Please give 24 hours notice to arrange a sauna schedule together.
Price: 40 euros per sauna (not included in the rental price)

This is a gîte so sheets , towels , tea towels are provided for the week (participation of 15 euros per person per stay). You can bring your own toiletries.

The linen was purchased from a local supplier. It is of good quality.

Market gardener’s basket (organic) on request with seasonal vegetables (48 hours in advance) – delivered or to be collected from the Prades market (Maraîcher Permaculteur)
Canned local dishes and other terrines from an organic farm
A small map: selection of local wines and Champagne (we lived in Champagne so excellent value for money)
Local honey
Etc… depending on what we like.
Like any lodging, some products and condiments are available. You can use them and leave some products for the following ones.

For children , in addition to natural baths and games in nature, swing, small trampoline, bicycle, toys and book (on request), card games.
No television.

Access to the gîte is possible by road up to the car park 30 metres before the entrance to the property on your left.

A real farm wheelbarrow is available to take suitcases and other belongings down the rose garden and the Mas. If it’s difficult, we have a wheelbarrow permit!

Ideal for 2 to 5 people (including a child), it is not easy to accommodate a person in a wheelchair. The old building does not have a shower on the ground floor, the space did not allow it.
A haven of peace of 3 hectares, 2km from the thermal baths of Molitg-les-Bains, 5km from the medieval village of Mosset, 10km from Prades or 8km from the village of EUS and not far from the Abbey of St Michel de Cuxa and St Martin du Canigou.
